Let’s talk about music. I start my day with music. I can’t concentrate until I find the song of the day. Usually, I just go with Ed Sheeran because it reminds me of someone very cute from Frankfurt. Im not gonna forget our nights out !
Today I needed something inspiring and I founds my favorite song Back to Black. While I was listening, decided to create a poster with a screen print effect. This is not what I typically do, but sometimes you need that change.
if you wanna be happy, then be happy!!! You are the only one who can make yourself happy. I have discovered 3 super simple ways to be happy:
- Get rid of people who make you cry. Really.
- Be grateful that you are alive, you are awake, your have food and pieceful place to live ( Nowadays many people are struggling to get this)
- Do what makes you happy, money will follow.
Easy as that. Sometimes we make things so complicated with no reason!!!
Ok, I tell you the truth, I am obsessed with Pretty Little Liars. There are 7 seasons, and I love them all. They all are super confusing, but the last episode was outstanding. It seems that A is CeCe….i am just so disappointed. I expected that A is someone who appears in every episode and is always around girls…
My friend got her A-level results with the A in Art and Design course. Now she is getting started in her carrier as a motion graphic designer. In college she was working mostly in Photoshop and Illustrator but she feels she missed something. I hope this article will help to put you back on track of the things you have to learn.
Adobe Aftereffects is the main software that any motion graphic designer will be using. This programme can be used for tracking, keying, rotoscoping, animation and compositing. It allows to compose media in both 2D and 3D space. Moreover, it also possible to download built-in tools and third party plug-ins (many of them are free).
Adobe Illustrator is another software that can be used for creating vector graphic. The main difference from Photoshop is that it’s not pixel based.
Cinema 4D is integrated into After Effects. It can be used for animation, rendering and 3D modelling. It offers dynamics which is useful for simulating soft body, hair, character animation, cloth, smoke and fire effects, as well as tools for cel shading and technical drawings.
If you know those programmes, you can create amazing work. All you need is practise as much as you can.
Its so good that I have finished with uni. Cant believe I did it. But…if you think this is IT you are wrong. Getting started in the carrier isn’t that easy. There are so many difficulties, for example, if you finish with first you think that you rule the world. Well, not exactly. First of all, you need patience. A lot of it. Really. Be ready that you have to start from the bottom (unpaid intership or a probation period), where bosses will be challenging you all the time. Even if you got First, you still have to study and work hard. Also, uni life and real world are two completely different things. In uni you might not be criticised harshly, teachers might help you and give advice. Dont think it will happen in the industry: everyone is busy and you are the least problem they have today (if you are from design world, you have to meet tight deadlines and every second does matter). So, my friend, you are by yourself.
As everyone else I have also did amazing intership that helped me to understand my strengths and weaknesses. Be prepared that you might not be successful straight away, but sooner or later you will get there.
After completing my intership, I analysed every day and finally came up with the list. This is special list, its called “My improvements” but you can call it as you wish. I put it on my wall, now I know where I am and what do I need to improve. It really helped me because I am not confused or stressed. I know what to do, and I am improving every day. You can set a small goal for each day, for example scratch it to you notepad ( “I need to see that tutorial on Youtube with this handsome guy”). It will help you to stay on track. Organisation is a key !
If you dont like books, then this advice might not be suitable for you. But, I read very interesting book “Burn you portfolio: things they don’t teach you in design school, but should” by Michael Janda. He will go into details about what to expect from clients and how to communicate effectively. Moreover, this book will help you to avoid so many mistakes with contract and business management.
Hopefully, this post is interesting and if you need any advice, feel free to contact me. I am not pro, but I have been here:)
